When our economy was strongest so were Overtime protections for the middle class

Washington state has proposed restoring overtime protections for more than 400,000 salaried workers across the state. If the proposal is finalized, anyone making under $80,000 a year by the time the new protections phase in will be paid time-and-a-half pay for any hours after 40 a week. This is huge news - because Washington hasn't updated our overtime protections for more than 40 years, thousands of salaried workers across the state are working overtime and not getting paid for it. Time is money, and right now too many of us are losing both. But the rule isn't finalized yet, and we need your help to restore these important protections. Over the summer, the state is hosting public feedback forums across the state to give people a chance to weigh in, as well as acceptin comments online. Sign up here and we'll let you know how you can engage and make sure that this incredibly important proposal becomes law.

When our economy was strongest, so were overtime protections.

Overtime pay makes your employer think twice before exploiting your time. That's good for workers, and the economy.
